On this page and its associated pages, we will attempt to provide up-to-date information regarding matters of interest to our current and potential clients and candidates as well as others. These matters include featured positions for which Riverbend Group consultants are actively seeking highly qualified candidates (not an exhaustive list of our clients’ current needs by any means); profiles of top, currently employed candidates Riverbend Group is confidentially representing in their quest for new opportunities with law firms or other employers (again, only a small sample of the many top candidates we represent at any given time); market highlights; and an ever-expanding list of links to other helpful or interesting web sites.

In addition, here are some other recent (and not-so-recent) news items:

Riverbend Group’s “Most Dependable” Award – Riverbend Group, LLC was named one of “The Ten Most Dependable Executive Search Firms and Staffing Agencies of the Mid-Atlantic” for 2007 by Goldline Research, an independent third-party research firm in Novato, California that evaluates professional services providers across the United States. The list of companies was published in the December 2007 issue of US Airways Magazine.

Riverbend Group was selected from among the more than 4,000 executive search and staffing firms located in the Mid-Atlantic area to receive this prestigious award. Goldline undertook an extensive research process to review all potentially qualified recruiting firms in the Mid-Atlantic region. Its proprietary research process includes individual company interviews and quantitative analyses of key company data, as well as client reference checks regarding all of the many finalists (339 companies in this case) to confirm consistently high levels of customer satisfaction. The companies that earn Goldline Research’s Most Dependable award have clearly demonstrated that they have the traits essential for continued success within their industries.

Riverbend Group’s selection by Goldline Research as one of “The Ten Most Dependable Executive Search Firms and Staffing Agencies of the Mid-Atlantic” demonstrates our commitment to excellence and to providing outstanding customer service. We are keenly aware that our clients, candidates and business partners constitute the very essence of our business, and it is only by working in close cooperation with them in a relationship of mutual trust that we can continue to grow and thrive. We would like to thank our many clients, candidates, business partners, referral sources and other friends for being a vital part of our success to date, and for allowing us the opportunity to be partners in your own ongoing success as well.

River Poetry

Down the river of life we go
In the flimsiest of craft, and so

Knowing the end will come to us all
We listen for rapids or a waterfall.

Maybe around the very next bend,
A splendid feast or a dismal end.

Keep right on paddling your own canoe.
Don’t ever give up till the journey’s thru.

Even if your boat should rock or tip,
Be thankful for getting to make the trip.

– By D. Edgar Murray

We follow the bends of the Merced River
out of Yosemite. Lupine blooms
along the roadside; periwinkle-blue clumps,
scattered in the spring-time green,
shock our eyes awake.
Redbud blossoms, magenta purple,
splash their beauty among
the lush riparian overgrowth.

Huge boulders sit and brood
along the roadside. Around the bend,
a rocky outcrop, smooth and long,
gathers up the sun’s warm rays.
Further on, an avalanche of rocks and scree,
broken loose from the cliff high above,
lay imprisoned behind Caltrans fencing.

Once out of the hills, we reach the highway.
Our enchanted world has vanished.

*Attention poets (both amateur and professional) – Please feel free to submit river-related poems for consideration by Riverbend Group for inclusion on this page. We would be very pleased to feature your poetry, particularly any works that fit in with this site’s “Riverbend” theme. Many thanks to the talented authors of the above two river poems, which have appeared on this page for the past several years. (To view Paul’s amateurish attempt at writing a river-related poem, see the “Poetry” section on the “Links” page under the “What’s New” heading above.)
